About the role:
Are you a meticulous professional with a love for customs compliance? We are on the lookout for a Senior Customs Specialist to ensure our operations align with all regulatory requirements. You will have a crucial role in guiding our teams, carrying out audits, and managing essential permits.
Duties:
- Offer valuable assistance and guidance on customs matters (and excise duties);
- Conduct audits on dossiers and manage and monitor permits;
- Ensure prompt clearance of various customs procedures;
- Advise operations, sales, and management on customs legislation and procedures;
- Supervise compliance with legal provisions;
- Conduct audits (including all relevant internal and external reports) following management directives, usually at the respective locations;
- Initiate and execute enhancements;
- Support requests for corrections, reimbursements, or additional payments and handle any objections and appeals;
- Proactively engage in implementing customs solutions for new clients;
- Provide project-based backing for customs activities and processes;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Customs for queries that operational customs staff cannot address;
- Assist in developing and providing customs training;
- Compose and maintain procedures related to Customs and Excise.

- You possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in customs and compliance;
- Thorough understanding of customs regulations, tariff classifications, and international trade laws Plus point if you have familiarity with Descartes (customs system);
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail;
- You have proficiency in Dutch and English languages
- You are a team player who thrives in an international setting
