The Supply Chain Manager EMEA has the responsibility with its team members to source, contract and manage all external suppliers on steel, duct, and equipment.

(S)he will constantly seek for margin maintenance and generation and ensuring that customer requirements are met through specs defined by engineering and Sales.

(S)he will lead operationally Supply Chain and the logistics teams.

(S)he will be an active member of the global supply chain team & logistics, reporting to the Group VP Supply Chain and responsible for the supply chain strategy of EMEA.

(S)he will be in charge of defining the right team, develop its team members and ensure perfect interfaces with all internal and external stakeholders.

The job will be based in Belgium with regular travels to suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Duties*:

Main duties*:

  • Reshape the supply chain process, design and energize the adequate team.
  • Defining the EMEA strategy in accordance with the Group VP Supply Chain to secure purchase orders issuance at the best conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments such as Sales, Operations, Engineering, Quality to identify or qualify new suppliers as well as cost reduction opportunities.
  • Integrate the local team in the global organization to improve price and quality levels and delivery on time of purchased equipment.
  • Liaise with sales functions, assisting sales in obtaining engineering, costing and commercial information at prebid stage.
  • Support Sales for final negotiation: review, advise upon, and action contract conditions
  • Work with Quality department to maintain the vendor appraisal system
  • Work with vendors to improve all aspects of the total cost of supply.
  • Negotiate longterm supply framework contracts.
  • Enhance the Supply Chain team performance by example and through structured development of the team enabling them to support the business.
  • Lead crossfunctional teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Actively monitor the purchase and logistic team, verify that works procedures are followed and arbitrate priorities on tasks completion.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and collaboration initiatives as an active team member of the global supply chain network.
  • Effectively utilise the SPG Leadership Standards to create an environment that empowers people to achieve business objectives.

Education & Technical Skills

  • 10 years overall supply chain experience

Required Experience

  • Leading teams in an international environment
  • Experience of working in a project & construction environment
  • Ideally qualified with Chartered body for example Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply
  • Previous experience within a management level of an industrial/manufacturing business
  • Previous use of tools such as Reverse Internet Auctions, Freemarkets
  • Previous experience of sourcing in international environment
  • With ICapable of seeing the overall view of Supply Chain and the links to all other departments
  • Experience working with INFOR or related ERP
  • Fluent in English
  • Customer focus & result oriented.
  • Data interpretation and associated action to deliver operations requirements
  • Persuasive, strong negotiation skills and decisive
