What You'll Do:
Lubrizol is seeking a Continuous Improvement Lead Oevel, which is a role based in plant, spending most of their time on the floor of the facility.
The early efforts of the role will include implementation of the Lubrizol Operating System (Lubrizol OS) for the plant, and later will have greater focus on managing projects, supporting kaizen events, running internal assessments of the sites, and training.
Throughout the time at the site, the CI Lead will be responsible for capturing cost savings projects, maintaining metrics, and project managing them to completion.
What We're Looking For:
- This is a 70% on the production floor role.
- You will collaborate with stakeholders from different organizational functions to form crossfunctional project team and works with all levels of organization to uphold quality of execution, to facilitate strategic thinking, and enable connectivity between teams to achieve results.
- Key inflow / outflow exchange with the central continuous improvement team
- Responsible for maintaining productivity tracking / dashboard for the plant.
- With the assistance of the central team, support the assessment, training, Implementation, and coaching of the basic elements:
- Leader Standard Work
- Operations standard work
- Maintenance standard work
- 5S
- Root cause corrective action
- Work with third party consultants to ensure implementation of elements designated to be implemented by third party.
- Leadership and expertise support of Lean Six Sigma program, via training, coaching, and leadership
- Kaizen owner for the plant, with small/cell projects being completed within the plant and managing support from central team for larger scale projects needing additional resources.
- Less than 25% domestic travel to Lubrizol locations or other benchmarking sites.
- Must be willing/able to work in a plant environment. Ability to wear all required PPE.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Chemicals experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering or program management
- Minimum 10 years of Operations/Manufacturing experience, with proven management experience as operations manager
- History of implementation of LSS, role based standard work, 5S programs.
- Solid communication, facilitation, and proven project management skills
- Strong facilitating skills able to conduct any type of workshop with any level of participant.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Strong presentation skills from preparing presentations and delivering results.
- Working knowledge of documented management systems, such as ISO 9001 and RC14001.
Considered A Plus:
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
- Experience in organizational, cultural, and technical change management.
- Experience or certificates in Adult Education and Training, Corporate Education and Training, or Training Development.
- Supply chain experience
