Purpose:
The Business Data Domain Architect - Customer provides leadership and direction to the SOLAR (SAP S4 Fashion) Business Data Analysts for future proofing, converting/migrating and cleansing data.
The Business Data Domain Architect - Customer is responsible for identifying the impacts and requirements for global master data, its respective business areas, owners and systems.
The Business Data Domain Architect - Customer has ownership of the project deliverables for Customer Master and its associated business areas and ultimately will ensure that the solution will fulfill the needs of the representative process scope and LS&Co business.
The Business Data Domain Lead reports to the SOLAR Business Data Architect and works in close partnership with the SOLAR functional leads (OTC, DTC, FICO, P2P, WO, IMP & SCS) and functional product owners in their respective area.
Key Results:
- Strategic future proofing; define the future "best practice" attribution of either Customer master data based on industry standard and best practices commonly applied to an omnichannel (apparel) retailer.
- Tactical future proofing; Assist with data cataloging efforts to ensure clear visibility of data elements across Levi's S4 landscape. Maintain field mapping documentation to highlight cross functional gaps in field definitions and usage to decrease data defects in each Cutover Rehearsal and drive towards 0 defects at Go Live.
- Operational future proofing; ensure clean and efficient data by keeping our records current and closing old unused records while updating values based on current and future business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather requirements for each release of SOLAR in discover and explore phases
- Manage defects that stem from new requirements during testing cycles
- Participate in and lead cross functional workshops for master data
- Supervise data analysts within Customer Master
- Own master data design for Customer Master
- Collaborate with data owners on non master data objects related to Customer Master
- Support development and staffing within Customer Master based on skills required for project success
- Assist in coordinating the daytoday activities of the business data analysts to ensure that milestones are achieved
- Resolve business issues that impact the ability of the business data analysts to deliver project goals and escalate issues as appropriate
- Accountable for the deliverables for respective functional areas (Requirements, BPD's, Functional Specs, etc.)
- Assist in driving the execution of testing, identification of transactions and data to be tested, and managing test problem resolution
- Lead business process definition and ensures business processes are effectively mapped in the software configuration
- Conduct and/or participate in workshops and presentations to validate business processes and requirements
- Maintain ongoing communication with business partners as part of stakeholder engagement program
- Partner with functional leads, functional product owners and project leadership to plan, set priorities, and resolve issues and conflicts
- Communicate progress and status on a regular basis
- Monitor issue management procedures and resolution
- Monitor delivery of agreed functional scope within budget and timeline, and take corrective action when necessary
- Participate in planning and execution of organizational readiness activities
- Work closely with the functional leads, functional product owners & technical team to facilitate the completion of development objects in support of the business processes
- Proactive management of project risks on an ongoing basis including the identification, analysis, and response to risks
- Participate in the development of risk mitigation and contingency strategies
Skills/Qualifications:
- Specialized knowledge of the business process(s) in the data proofing area and the ability to take a global perspective
- Basic to good knowledge of the functional areas integrating with the functional product owners and processes relevant to Customer Master (OTC, FICO, WO)
- Experience Managing people in a detailed, handson capacity
- Ability to work in diversified teams and guide and motivate project team members
- Strong time management skills and the ability to multitask
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to move forward with incomplete information
- Ability to articulate corporate and program vision and influence stakeholders
- System configuration and implementation experience is a plus
- +5 years SAP Customer Master Experience Required
- +5 years in data management preferred
- Information technology & SAP experience required
- Advanced Excel experience required (comfortable using formulas incl. vlookup, countif, etc., comfortable using pivot tables and graphs to display data in a visually appealing and informative manner)
