AnimalhealthEurope is a Brusselsbased trade association representing 12 of Europe's leading manufacturersof animal medicines and 17 nationalassociations in 19 countries, covering90% of the European Market. Theanimal health industry provides toolsfor 300,000 veterinarians to care formillions of animals across Europe,supporting 3 million livestock farmsand 91 million households with petsacross Europe.

As Director for Regulatory and Technical Affairs, yourmain objective is to position AnimalhealthEurope with theEU agencies and EU Policy makers regulating veterinarymedicines as "The" go-to association in Europe covering animal health. You will also be expected to engagewith and align where possible with EU-based tradeassociations on relevant regulatory issues.

In this role, you will lead and manage regulatory andtechnical activities related to veterinary medicines andanimal health products. Reporting directly to the SecretaryGeneral, you will play a pivotal role in shaping regulatorystrategies, advocating for favourable policies, andensuring a favourable regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities and activities (include, but are not limited to)

– Regulatory Environment: Develop and implement regulatory activities to support the registration, approval, and marketing of veterinary medicines and animal health products in Europe.

– Relevant regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines both in the EU and Internationally: provide guidance and support to internal teams and member companies.

– Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of European and International emerging scientific, regulatory, and technological developments in animal health, providing expert guidance and insights to inform decision-making.

– Regulatory Intelligence: Monitor and analyse regulatory developments, trends, and initiatives at the national, regional, and international levels, providing timely updates and recommendations to the Technical and Regulatory Committee.

– Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with industry partners, and external stakeholders to address regulatory challenges, resolve issues, and advance common objectives.

– Technical and Regulatory Committee (TRC): Manage AnimalhealthEurope's TRC, draft agendas, prepare content of agenda items, draft minutes and implement actions agreed in the Committee.

– Team Leadership: Lead a team of regulatory and technical professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

– Flexibility: Ability to travel frequently and internationally.

Required

– In-depth knowledge of European regulatoryframeworks, guidelines, and procedures for veterinarymedicines and other animal health products

– Understanding of the EU institutions and national EU governments, its policies and processes, and generalpractice with policy makers, in particular the EuropeanMedicines Agency as well as national agencies

– Experience at EU level in healthcare, agriculture, digital, and environment topics

– Strategic solutions-oriented thinker with creative skills and the ability to rapidly assimilate various aspects ofan issue

Education

– University degree or equivalent in pharmacy,life sciences, or a related field; a secondaryqualification in regulatory affairs would bean advantage. Education in animal or life scienceswould also be advantageous.
