- As Lead of Import/Export Operations you are responsible for safeguarding smooth export/import flows on a 24/7 base. You support the customs & trade compliance manager creating a customs centre of excellence, while customs operations are still performed locally. You'll work from the offices in Zwevegem and report directly to the Customs & Trade Compliance Manager. Possibility to work hybrid (Alpro-Danone locations in Belgium) or from home._
About the job
In your role as lead of import/export operations, being part of a customs centre of excellence, the next activities are part of your responsibilities:
- Secure fluent import operations of base materials by supporting customs and related warehouse activities;
- Responsible for advising the buying department on their customs operations;
- Make training needs and give workshops to other logistic supply points on compliancy and customs essentials;
- Lead projects and optimising / continuous improvement of import/export related flows;
- Advisory function to broader plant based community on customs/excise related matters;
- Be point of contact for customs execution team & external stakeholders (e.g. customs authorities, customs software, );
- Monitor regulations and plan / implement necessary modifications on time... (e.g. CBAM, excise, AEO, Brexit, PEM convention, UCC reform,);
- Monitor the Autorised Economic Operatorstatus: prepare AEOdocumentation and provide updated information towards the local customs authorities in the yearly review for Belgium for the BE hubs;
- Support on reporting on dashboard export data + continuous improvement.
To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to:
- Have a Bachelor degree and previous experience in customs and/or willing to broaden the knowledge level;
- Be familiar/have experience with management of export operations;
- Be able to work independently and have strong skills in in communicating, managing, negotiating with different stakeholders within and outside Danone;
- Have strong & right leadership, communication, presentation, coordination & convincing skills towards creating buy in of all relevant stakeholders;
- Be able to work very independent and have a continuous improvement mindset, identifying areas for improvement, developing solutions for optimization and implementing sustainable solutions;
- Be a true problem solver with collaboration skills;
- Have the skill to lead multiple projects simultaneously, to establish and adapt to changing priorities;
- Have good knowledge of English and French, besides Dutch;
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package;
- Added value if relevant SAP knowhow and/or basic VAT knowledge.
