The Project Coordinator (Onshore) will work on the Princess Elisabeth Island Project.


To contribute to Europe and Belgium's ambitions for the Energy Transition, Elia has foreseen to extend its offshore high voltage grid, the Princess Elisabeth Island project.

The grid shall connect the new Belgian windfarms situated within the "Princess Elisabeth Windfarm zone".

The project consists of:

  • An artificial energy island (with offshore transmission infrastructure)
  • Multiple AC substations at 66kV & 220 kV
  • 6x 220kV AC export cable systems of ~50 km each
  • HVDC connection (1 converter offshore, 1 converter onshore, HVDC cable system) between the artificial island and the new onshore substation of the Ventilus project
  • Possibility to connect future HVDC interconnectors

The project currently progresses in the tender stage, which will be followed by the detailed design and engineering phase and subsequently the onshore construction phase.


Service expectations:

  • As part of the Princess Elisabeth Island team:_
  • You are a safety leader, continuously looking for safety enhancements
  • You ensure timely delivery as well as quality and safety of your assigned tasks
  • You seek out design opportunities to bring additional benefit to the project
  • You report proactively and regularly regarding status and progress of your responsibilities
  • You can independently manage and implement specific work packages and engage with relevant contractors, suppliers and internal experts where required.
  • As Project Coordinator (Onshore):_
  • You are part of the "HVDC System & Onshore Substation" Package and report to the "HVDC System & Onshore Substation" Package Manager
  • You work in a multidisciplinary team of Project Leaders, Project Engineers, Experts, Procurement officer, HSE advisors, PMO officer,
  • You will assist the Package Manager in:
  • managing the EPCI Contract for the delivery of the DC System and Onshore Substation;
- evaluating Project performance against key performance indicators and making recommendation for improvements;
- ensuring everyone is aligned and working towards Project objectives and in accordance with the internal management plans;
- supporting the organization of the Package Meetings, providing updates, capturing action items and next steps and addressing Team questions;
- managing internal change requests;
- collecting the inputs from the Team for the contractual-related items (e.g., Variation Requests)
- collecting the inputs from the Team for the costs management of the Package;
- facilitating onboarding of newcomers.

  • You will coordinate with the Team to:
  • ascertain that all the requirements of the Employer's Requirements and Technical Standards have been implemented, verified and validated;
  • You will coordinate within the Team the:
  • cross-discipline review of project management-related documents produced by the Contractor (e.g., Master Document Register);
- the Interface-related topics, with goal to achieving timely and effective resolution of open items and issues;
- identification, assessment and mitigation of the risks.

  • You will contribute to the development and improvement of project management processes, tools and templates to enhance functioning of the Package.

Languages:
Fluent in English (oral & writing), Dutch and/or French are a plus

End : 31/05/2025

Full time
Main office in Brussels, however site visits will be required during project execution.
5 days per week in the main office (homeworking possibilities for about 2 days per week)
Preferably full time resident in Belgium
Short business trips to contractors are possible.
