Eu Policy Manager

Position Summary
(ISC)2 advocates for its members and the wider profession to ensure the most effective cybersecurity policies, legislations, and regulations are developed and implemented. In its advocacy programme, (ISC)2 engages policymakers and influencers, promotes the organisation's thought leadership, and champions for a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive cybersecurity sector.

(ISC)2 recently launched its policy engagement activities in the EU, and this position is key to implementing, building, and growing (ISC)2's advocacy programme in the EU.


The Policy Manager, working closely with Senior Director Advocacy, will take the day-to-day operational lead in rolling the advocacy plans, and contribute to the development of (ISC)2's advocacy strategy for the EU.

This is a full-time position in Brussels.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daytoday operations for (ISC)2's advocacy programme in the EU
  • Manage (ISC)2's relationship with its public affairs vendor in the region
  • Coordinate and develop (ISC)2's responses to policy consultations
  • Identify, map, and engage key policy stakeholders, including within government and wider industry, through regular communication building and strengthening relationships
  • Contribute to event planning and delivery
  • Represent (ISC)2 at external events, working groups, including developing presentations for events
  • Actively identify emerging and significant policy issues, including strategically evaluating the impact of policy developments
  • Provide policy and stakeholders briefings to senior management
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, Exam and other internal teams to deliver advocacy plans
  • Support the development of advocacy function and processes
  • Contribute to internal recording and reporting of advocacy KPIs
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • University degrees in: Public relations, communication, political sciences, public affairs, law, or cybersecurity required or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in areas such as managing public policy, government relations and advocacy
  • Exceptional communication verbal and written
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, SharePoint
  • A good understanding of the technology sector
  • A good understanding of the EU political system, environment and institutions, as well as cultural landscape
  • Experience with government/policy schemes is preferred
  • Network of key stakeholders a plus
  • Experience working with member associations or nonprofits a plus
  • Keen Interest in cybersecurity policy and creating value for membership associations
