To enhance our discovery capabilities, we are in search of a dynamic Bioinformatician to join our team. Your main tasks will involve integrating discovery data into our central data repository, customizing our electronic notebook system to suit end user requirements, and linking protein sequence databases with the electronic lab notebook platform. Additionally, you will play a key role in creating electronic lab notebook dashboards, formatting data for user-friendly access, and leveraging your Python programming expertise to enhance data processing efficiency. We are looking for a candidate with a solid background in API endpoints, protein biochemistry, SQL, and database management. The ideal candidate should also possess a proactive approach in identifying and resolving any challenges within the role.

This position is located at our facility in Zwijnaarde (Ghent), Belgium.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate discovery data into our organization's central data repository.
  • Customize the electronic notebook system to meet the requirements of lab users.
  • Connect protein sequence databases with the electronic lab notebook system.
  • Create electronic lab notebook dashboards and format data for user-friendly access.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement a seamless mechanism for external data ingestion.
  • Participate in software application development within the Discovery team to enhance data processing efficiency.
  • Utilize public antibody sequence databases to improve antibody engineering capabilities.
  • Identify and address any suboptimal aspects of the role in a proactive manner.
