MCI is an independent agency based in Geneva, Switzerland, with a strong global presence encompassing 60 offices across 31 countries.

As the European Sales Director specializing in the Association Sector, you will be responsible for promoting MCI's solutions to trade associations and professional societies.

Your responsibilities:

  • Drive new business for MCI's key European offices within the association sector, targeting professional societies and trade associations.
  • Gain deep understanding of MCI's comprehensive range of solutions for associations and other MCI group brands' offerings in order to provide customized solutions matching the challenges faced by associations or uncover new opportunities for MCI.

Your target customers include international/pan-European/global associations located in Europe and large industry and trade associations with headquarters in Europe.

Your territory:

Europe, with a specific focus on cities that host international association headquarters including Brussels, Amsterdam, Geneva, Paris, and London.

Your profile:

You should have a solid understanding of how associations operate and feel comfortable engaging with both volunteer leaders (Board members) and paid professional staff (C-Suite). Well-connected within the European association landscape, you possess experience in direct sales roles, thrive on identifying and cultivating new opportunities, and excel at building and maintaining relationships.

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in direct sales within the association sector, either in a provider/partner organization/agency or within an association.
  • Skilled at opening doors and delivering consultative selling.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and securing new business in the association sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the distinctions between trade associations and professional societies.
  • Ability to navigate association governance, political aspects, and decision-making processes.
  • Quick grasp of various industry sectors and professions with adept communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English (both verbal and written) is essential, knowledge of other European languages is advantageous.
  • Comfortable with public speaking, networking, executing marketing campaigns, and driving conversion strategies.
