Internship Position:


We are looking for an intern to contribute to the development and deployment of commanding, control and communications software for handling fleets of heterogeneous robots.

This will provide the chance to create generic backend and frontend tools for controlling a wide variety of marine, terrestrial, aerial and orbital robots and work in the integration of various state of the art AI data fusion and autonomous multi-agent software.

The Internship is available at the
Robotics Software and Intelligence (RSI) Division (Systems Department).

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Create new functionalities for the robot control centre webbased User Interface using VUE and webpack.
  • Develop:
  • Backend services for data management using Python, NodeJS, SQL and data exchange methods (e.g. HTTP, WebSockets, ROS-DDS)
  • Contribute to:
  • Tools meant for handling autonomous vehicles, mission planning and plan monitoring
  • CI/CD and end to end testing using playwright.

Skills and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in the third year of Bachelor's (minimum) or in a Master's Degree in IT, robotics, web development, or equivalent.
  • Experienced with the development of libraries and frontend / backend JavaScript, Typescript, HTML and CSS.
  • Good understanding of REST API, HTTP calls, and websocket communication.
  • Good programming knowledge in Python and SQL databases
  • Proficient user of git version control tools
  • Fast to learn and adopt new technologies
  • Independent worker, results driven, with a good sense of responsibility
  • Good level in English, both spoken and written.
  • Passionate about robotics, autonomous vehicles and AI

Considered as Assets:

  • Experience with:
  • Webbased GIS projects (e.g. geoserver, openlayers, vuelayers)
  • Familiarity with and knowledge of:
  • User authentication development
  • ROS (Robot Operating System) Middleware
  • Symbolic planners.
