**In het kader van het **RESPIN-project** (Reinforcing Science-Policy Interfaces for integrated biodiversity and climate knowledge and policies), gefinancierd door Horizon Europe, zoeken wij een enthousiaste en gemotiveerde collega.**

Je zal activiteiten uitvoeren ter ondersteuning van het RESPIN-project en bijdragen aan de realisatie van de werkpakketten die aan BELSPO werden toegewezen.

RESPIN wil doelgericht kennis ter beschikking stellen om het beleid te informeren. Het stimuleren van de dialoog en het gemeenschappelijke begrip tussen experten, beleidsmakers en andere belanghebbenden in de verschillende beleidsdomeinen, is essentieel voor het bereiken van zowel de mondiale biodiversiteitsdoelen van het Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), als de doelstellingen van de Klimaatovereenkomst van Parijs.

Het project versterkt de op wetenschappelijke resultaten gebaseerde richtlijnen voor het biodiversiteits
- en klimaatbeleid, op Europees en globaal niveau, waarbij de onderlinge verbanden tussen het biodiversiteits
- en klimaatbeleid aan bod komen. Speciale aandacht zal uitgaan naar de producten en werking van de internationale wetenschapspanels voor biodiversiteit, IPBES en voor klimaat, IPCC. Het RESPIN projectconsortium bestaat uit 11 partners, waaronder BELSPO.

Het RESPIN-project loopt van 1 januari 2024 tot 31 december 2025.

**Jouw takenpakket?**
- Je draagt bij aan en je ondersteunt de werkpakketten waaraan BELSPO deelneemt.
- Je rapporteert over de behoeften aan capaciteitsopbouw van de IPBES/IPCC focal points.
- Je coördineert en faciliteert de contacten tussen de IPBES en IPCC focal points van Europese en geassocieerde landen met het oog op kennisdeling.
- Je coördineert en faciliteert workshops voor kennishouders over de mogelijkheden om betrokken te raken bij IPBES en IPCC.
- Je faciliteert capaciteitsopbouw voor science-policy interfaces en kennishouders.
- Je brengt verslag uit over regionale workshops en netwerkvergaderingen.
- Je volgt het projectbudget op en houdt de administratieve bewijslast voor gemaakte kosten bij (vb timesheets).

**Werkgever**:
Er is 1 **contractuele** plaats vacant als **Science Policy Officer** bij het **Belgisch Biodiversiteitsplatform**, gefinancierd door de **POD Wetenschapsbeleid (Belspo)**.

Het Belgisch Biodiversiteitsplatform (BBPf) is een interface-instelling tussen wetenschap en beleid. Binnen het domein van de biodiversiteit treedt het op als makelaar tussen beleid, wetenschap en praktijk op nationaal, Europees en internationaal niveau. Het BBPf is gevestigd in Brussel en werkt samen met verschillende instellingen, waaronder BELSPO, KBIN, INBO, DEMNA en SCIENSANSO.

De POD Wetenschapsbeleid (BELSPO) is met zo'n 2500 medewerkers de vierde grootste Federale Overheidsdienst. Ze heeft als opdrachten de voorbereiding, de uitvoering en de evaluatie van het federaal wetenschapsbeleid en is in die context onder meer belast met:

- De uitvoering van onderzoeksprogramma's, -activiteiten en -netwerken op Belgisch en internationaal niveau;
- Het beheer van de Belgische deelname aan de programma's en activiteiten binnen de Europese Ruimtevaartorganisatie (ESA) en andere nationale en internationale organisaties verantwoordelijk voor onderzoek en wetenschappelijke dienstverlening;
- Het administratief, financieel en materieel beheer van de Federale Wetenschappelijke Instellingen (FWI's) die deel uitmaken van het Departement, alsook de coördinatie van hun onderzoeksactiviteiten en wetenschappelijke dienstverlening;
- De coördinatie van het wetenschapsbeleid op federaal, interfederaal en internationaal vlak;
- De ontwikkeling en analyse van indicatoren voor Onderzoek en Ontwikkeling (O&O), evenals met de invoer ervan in internationale databanken.

Via haar 10 federale wetenschappelijke instellingen (FWI) staat ze in voor de studie, het beheer en de valorisatie van een wetenschappelijk en cultureel erfgoed.
