Newsroom Coordinator

POLITICO is seeking an organized and detail-oriented newsroom coordinator to support our journalists in Brussels.

This role provides a high level of support to the Managing Editor across operational tasks to ensure the smooth running of the newsroom.

This person will play a central role in handling day-to-day administration, helping to ensure our newsroom adheres to standards of operational excellence that allow us to produce world-class journalism and build a sustainable business.

This is a full-time role working in our newsroom in Brussels

What You'll Do

• Execute on travel and logístical planning for major coverage events where POLITICO wants to send journalists;
• Support our journalists by handling media accreditations and assisting with admin queries;
• Organize and communicate onboarding programs for new journalists;
• Support senior editors with staffing rotas and holiday planning;
• Maintain subscriptions for newsroom tools and national and local media;
• Organize and deliver external visits to the newsroom from highlevel guests;
• Foster a positive working dynamic in the office and be a strong support for our journalists

What You'll Need

• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; consistent attention to detail
• Be a selfstarter who is willing to spot and suggest ways to better support the newsroom, as well as to learn preexisting processes
• High tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment with competing levels of urgency
• A flexible and positive attitude, and the ability to anticipate future needs
• Experience with Microsoft Suite products and expense systems such as Rydoo
