Fieldfisher in Brussels has more than 65 qualified lawyers advising on a wide range of topics, including finance, corporate and M&A, energy, tax, commercial law, competition law, dispute resolution, privacy and data protection, intellectual property, employment and benefits and EU regulatory matters. We work on high-profile matters and clients expects us to embrace new ways of thinking and deliver legal solutions that help them thrive. The high level of specialisation of the firm's lawyers as well as our multidisciplinary approach form the backbone of the advice we provide to our clients. Our approach to both transactional assistance, legal advice and litigation is guided by the need to reconcile legal thinking with the operational and commercial realities of the client and the sector in which it operates.

Our Banking and Finance team

In our Banking & Finance team, our banking lawyers provide expert advice on a wide variety of international and domestic financing transactions, including acquisition finance, project development and finance, real estate finance, debt capital markets, general corporate lending and receivables and asset based lending.

We are a young and dynamic team that serve a variety of Belgian and international investment banks, international and domestic banks, asset managers, investment funds, private equity sponsors, contractors, other financial institutions, industry bodies and sovereign entities.

Who we are looking for

To sustain the growth in our Banking & Finance team, we are looking for a lawyer with one to five years of experience who wants to join our practice.

Requirements

  • You hold a Master of Laws degree from a Belgian university with a good academic record
  • You have between 1 – 5 years of experience working as a lawyer in a reputable Belgian, European or international law firm or as in-house counsel with a particular focus on financing transactions
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit with a multidisciplinary mindset; you show an interest in matters that go beyond your comfort zone and take initiative in searching for solutions together with your team members
  • You are fluent in Dutch or French, and are fluent in English
  • An additional foreign law degree and / or traineeship in international business law firm is a plus
  • You are an excellent communicator and team player
