We are looking for an
International Markets (IM), Health Economics and HTA Evidence Lead - Neurology who is
dynamic, driven and curious to join us in our
APEX (Access Pricing and External Engagement) team, based in Slough, UK or Brussels, Belgium office site.


About the role


UCB is in the second year of the exciting "Breakthrough and Lead" phase with the intent of creating growth and leadership in five specific patient populations by 2025 including epileptic seizures and advance our science and portfolio assets to bring differentiated solutions and co-create sustainable impact to patients, employees and society.

To support Breakthrough & Lead with deep technical expertise and capabilities, the International Markets (IM) team provide access support to markets including Japan, China, Canada and Australia, and other markets in Asia, the Middle East and Africa, and Latin America.


Who you'll work with


This is a transversal team role that works with a cross section of Global, Regional and Country functional teams, and across assets and markets to facilitate the launch and best possible access for UCB solutions for patients at sustainable price levels.

This role reports into the Global Head of Health Economics and HTA Evidence, with a dotted line to the Head of International Market Access, Pricing and External Engagement.


What you'll do

  • Define appropriate HTA and payer evidence strategies to demonstrate the full value potential of indevelopment neurology assets, such as through the design and endpoint selection of phase II to IV studies, influencing indication language and labelling strategy, tailoring of core claims documentation etc.
  • The International Markets HE & HTA evidence Lead is responsible for the provision of health economic and HTA expertise to the country level teams in the IM region for all UCB assets, with a focus on pre and peri launch.

This position will hold responsibility for:

  • Communication and incorporation of IM country needs in global HE deliverables and evidence generation plans
  • Adaptation and refinement of global health economic deliverables to meet the needs of IM countries alongside the country, regional and global crossfunctional teams
  • Construct compelling health economic, HTA and HEOR strategies in conjunction with the relevant transversal teams to achieve optimal reimbursement and patient access, including local HE evidence generation as required
  • Inform, with the needs of IM markets, the design, development and implementation of global health economics strategies and projects to generate compelling evidence that leads to the demonstration of the clinical, humanistic, and economic value of UCB assets
  • Identify IM needs for the setup, analysis and interpretation of clinical outcomes and both internal and external (through scientific publications, where appropriate) communications in line with the brand strategy
  • Communicate and train IM country teams on global economic and HTA tools
  • Review and signoff country reimbursement submission dossiers
  • In conjunction with IM country and regional teams, inform launch plans and patient value brand plans to ensure HE and HTA needs are fully reflected
  • Monitor HEOR and HTA environment in IM countries and communicate significant implications to global and regional teams and leadership
  • Support countries in shaping the HEOR and HTA environment in IM countries to reflect the full value of UCB solutions in their assessments
  • Strong involvement in outcomes research, strategic pricing, and other market accessrelated projects
  • Support and involvement in observational research, strategic pricing and general market accessrelated projects in support of the IM region
  • Provide optimal support in health economics and Access excellence to internal stakeholders (IM and global) involved in the development and commercialization of UCB solutions by contributing to the development of new methodologies, identifying emerging health economics data and maintaining collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders and academics

skills

  • Minimum BSc in healthcare, heath economics or an allied field
  • Proven track record of Health Economics and Outcomes research capabilities within a pharmaceutical company or Biotech
  • Expertise in the European Health Care Ecosystem
  • Product launch experience
  • Rare disease or speciality experience
  • Expertise in the design and implementation of health economic strategies with expansion contributing to access strategies, payer and HTA submissions
  • Strong communication, project management and problemsolving capabilities
