Senior IT Operations Specialist
SECO Group is looking for a Senior IT Operations Specialist to coordinate the IT Team at the Diegem office.
The Senior IT Operations Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and efficiency. This role involves overseeing daily IT operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing best practices for IT service management.
The specialist collaborates with cross-functional teams, leads projects, and supports business continuity efforts.
Key responsabilities:
IT Infrastructure & System Management:
- Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and performance of servers, networks, and cloud services.
- Monitor system health and performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Manage backups, disaster recovery plans, and failover strategies.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide advanced technical support to resolve escalated IT issues.
- Act as a point of contact for complex system incidents, performing root cause analysis and resolution.
- Develop documentation and standard operating procedures for IT operations.
IT Service Management & Process Improvement:
- Implement ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
- Streamline IT workflows to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Ensure IT compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Cloud & Virtualization Management:
- Manage Azure cloud environment and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Optimize cloud resource usage and cost management.
Security & Compliance:
- Enforce cybersecurity protocols, monitor threats, and mitigate risks.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure patch management processes are in place.
- Work with compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements (GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.).
IT Project Management & Strategy:
- Lead IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
- Research emerging technologies and provide recommendations for IT investments.
Required skills & experience:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or network management.
- Experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and enterprise IT environments.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux server administration.
- Strong knowledge of networking (firewalls, VPNs, switches, routers).
- Experience with IT service management tools ( Jira, etc.).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
- Understanding of IT security frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27001).
Soft skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and lead projects effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to IT operations.
- Language knowledge : Dutch / English / French
Preferred certifications:
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
- Fortinet NSE 4 or NSE 5
