Contract Manager, Belgium
Overview
Our client are World's leaders when it comes to key transport solutions in transit to a more sustainable planet, and they offer, with their dedicated team, innovative rail and bus mobility options.
Thanks to these integrated projects based on concession or turnkey models, customers are offered a single, global, specific solution, a solution that guarantees the integration and compatibility of all the systems.
With an annual turnover of over 3 billion euros, they are now expanding their presence into the Belgian market working on a €4bn EUR Design and Building contract for a Rail Manufacturing project.
Your Role
- As the business continues to expand, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Contract Manager to support them on a Rail Manufacturing Project based in Brussels.
- Based in Belgium with experience in contract and claims management on rail projects as well as design & build contracts.
- Responsibilities will include drafting claims, change orders, variation orders as well as contract negotiation and claims management.
- Native or full professional proficiency in French and English is a must; Spanish proficiency would be beneficial.
You
As an experienced Contract Manager, fluent in French, you will be a degree‑qualified quantity surveyor, engineer or construction manager. You will know employer and subcontractor management, have knowledge of FIDIC contracts, and be experienced in contract negotiation, drafting, claims and variation orders. Writing claims letters and drafting contract narratives is essential. Experience with public procurement within Belgium or France is preferred. You should have a stable work history and be seeking a permanent appointment with the business in Belgium.
The contract management department has a strategic growth plan, meaning senior hires such as this have future scope for development and career progression at both project and corporate level. There will be opportunity to visit the head office in Spain.
