Strong with clients. Sharp on content.
And experienced enough to take responsibility when things get complex.
We’re looking for an experienced Key Account Manager for some of our largest IT and tech clients. Someone who understands communication in all its forms, quickly gets to the heart of the matter and knows how to bring people along — both on the client side and within our own team.
This isn’t a role where you simply pass on briefs and follow up on projects. You think along, ask questions, give direction and speak up when something could be better.
A campaign that isn’t sharp enough? A brand identity that’s losing consistency? Copy that’s technically correct but says very little? A brief where the real challenge is hidden somewhere between the lines? You spot it. And you do something about it.
About the role
Our biggest clients are also our most complex. They operate across different countries and regions, with multiple teams, products, platforms and stakeholders. Often in an international, technology-driven environment.
As Key Account Manager, you keep the overview and protect the bigger picture.
You know your client, understand their business and know what’s going on. You translate strategic objectives into strong communication and bring the right people around the table: strategy, copy, design, digital, marketing, development…
You don’t need to be the best specialist in every discipline. But you do need to recognise great work — and be critical enough to ask for better when needed.
What will you do?
- You take ownership of some of our largest and most important clients.
- You build strong relationships with different stakeholders and become a trusted partner they can rely on.
- You translate business and communication objectives into a clear strategy and concrete projects.
- You bring different disciplines together and make sure everyone is working towards the same goal.
- You safeguard quality across the full picture: from strategy and concept to campaigns, brand identity, copy and digital execution.
- You’re happy to pick up the pen yourself when needed. Analysing, sharpening or rewriting a complex text doesn’t scare you.
- You ask critical questions. Both to the client and to the team.
- You keep an eye on scope, timing, budget and quality, and step in when things start to drift.
- You spot opportunities and risks before someone explicitly puts them on the table.
- You grow accounts through trust, expertise and good work.
Who are we looking for?
Let’s be clear: at least 5 years of relevant experience really is the minimum for this role.
You have enough experience under your belt to independently take responsibility for major accounts. You’ve managed complex communication projects involving different stakeholders and disciplines, and you know that things don’t always go neatly according to brief or plan.
Above all, you’re a people person. You build trust easily with clients and you’re just as strong internally. You listen, know when to challenge and recognise when your main job is to bring the right people together.
More specifically:
- You’re a communication generalist. Strategy, branding, PR, content, campaigns, digital: you understand how the different disciplines come together to create a strong whole.
- You’re strong with language. You hear when a sentence doesn’t work, see when copy could be sharper and can critically review and improve more complex content yourself.
- You have a critical eye for creative work. You can look at a concept, campaign or brand identity and explain why it works — or why it doesn’t yet.
- You’re highly proficient in English. Not just enough to follow a meeting, but to present, write, argue a point and negotiate with confidence. Your Dutch is excellent too. French is a plus.
- You make complex things clear. Lots of input, different opinions and gaps in the brief? You create structure and decide what needs to happen first.
- You take responsibility. Big clients come with big stakes. You make decisions, speak up and don’t hide behind processes.
- You’re curious. Our clients operate in B2B IT, so a healthy interest in technology, innovation and new ways for brands to communicate definitely helps.
- You use AI with good judgement. Not to outsource your thinking, but to research faster, think sharper and get to better work more efficiently. AI is a tool. Your own judgement stays in the driver’s seat.
- You think commercially. You understand what a client needs today and see where we can create additional value tomorrow.
- You’re a doer. Strategy and execution go hand in hand here. One day you might be working on a complex go-to-market plan, the next you’re fine-tuning assets or picking up
