Key Responsibilities & Job Description
As the (Senior) Manager for Cybersecurity, you will be driving one of the most strategic policy areas of the fastest-growing digital associations in Europe. Your role entails a strong understanding of EU policymaking, the ability to work in a dynamic environment and drive consensus in our membership to build agile positions and engagement strategies and making a significant contribution to our growth. Your responsibilities include:
- Lead the Working Group on Cybersecurity: It is one of the most strategic policy areas in the EU and for the association. You will be responsible for the seamless functioning of the Working Group, including being up to speed with the latest policy developments and seeing through the successful adoption of our positions by driving consensus in the membership.
- Stakeholder engagement: In close cooperation with colleagues in policy, outreach and communications teams, as well as senior management, you will be designing and executing engagement strategies on key files, in alignment with DIGITALEUROPE’s long-term vision.
- Representation in stakeholder fora: You will represent DIGITALEUROPE in events and external stakeholder forums and working groups linked to cybersecurity/or accompany senior management to relevant fora and meetings on your policy areas.
- Drive related communication activities to meet our Manifesto goals (https://www.digitaleurope.org/resources/europe-2030-a-digital-powerhouse-digitaleuropes-manifesto-for-the-next-commission/): Along with our Communications team, you will be actively involved in our communications campaigns and associated activities to ensure that the association’s KPIs on cybersecurity are taken onboard by the Commission, European Parliament, Member States and other key stakeholders.
Key requirements:
- Your personality: You possess a robust and loyal personality and are a dedicated team player with good judgement. You can work effectively under time and mental pressure, and approach challenges with a positive attitude.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in EU public affairs working for a trade association, corporation, consultancy or government. Experience in association or Working Group management is a plus.
- Expertise: Good understanding of the cybersecuritylegislative framework and ecosystem in the EU
- Cooperative: Demonstrated experience in working across the organisation and coordinating actions from staff from across teams.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise information from legislative and regulatory documents and identify key issues and implications.
- Communication Skills: Excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex policy matters in a clear and compelling manner to both a business and policy audience. Proficiency in English is mandatory.
- Project Management & Execution: Proven ability to plan ahead, design, and deliver complex projects over a long execution phase.
- Education: A background in business management, law, or political science, with advanced degrees being a strong asset.
- Digital & AI Fluency: Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and other digital productivity tools responsibly and effectively to enhance research, analysis, communication, and project delivery. Proactive in identifying smarter ways of working that improve efficiency while maintaining accuracy, sound judgement, and high professional standards.
