Magnax is building next-generation electric motors based on yokeless axial flux technology. Our motors are compact, light and efficient. That makes them a strong match for robotics.
We are a team of about 30 people in Kortrijk, mostly engineers, from many different countries. We work in English. We keep things informal, and ideas move quickly from concept to prototype.
To grow our position in robotics, we are looking for an Applications Engineer. You are the technical link between the market, our customers and our R&D team.
This is what you'll do
Customer enquiries and proposals
You are the first technical contact for incoming customer enquiries. You find out what the customer really needs.
Together with R&D, you translate customer specs (RFIs and RFQs) into motor requirements.
You select the right motor solution and check how it fits into the customer's system: drives, gearboxes, mechanical integration.
You build the proposal yourself, technical solution and pricing included, with support from R&D.
You follow up with the customer until the project is won, then hand over to the project team.
Market intelligence
You keep track of the robotics market: applications, players, competing technologies and trends.
You map where axial flux motors bring the most value and which segments we should target.
You report your findings to management in a clear, structured way. Your input shapes our product and commercial choices.
Product and sales support
You help create and update product documentation, datasheets and sales tools.
You bring customer feedback back to R&D.
You join customer visits and trade fairs now and then.
Who are we looking for?
You have a master's degree in engineering: electromechanical, electrical, mechanical or mechatronics.
You have at least 2 years of experience in the robotics industry. Actuators, cobots, industrial robots, humanoids, AMRs.
You understand electric drive systems. You can talk motors, gearboxes and controllers with a customer's engineering team.
You like customer contact. You ask the right questions and you write a clear proposal.
You enjoy analysis. You turn scattered market information into insights management can act on.
You work independently and take ownership of the technical solution. You speak and write English fluently. Other languages are a plus.
You are open to occasional travel.
You report to the Belgian management team.
What can we offer?
Sure, every company talks about perks. But here’s why you’ll look forward to getting up in the morning:
Make an impact: Your work won’t just sit on a server collecting digital dust. You’ll see your ideas come to life in the real world.
Life at Magnax ≠ boring: Whether brainstorming over Belgian beers, making last-minute design tweaks, or Friday wrap lunches where creativity and tortillas collide—we keep things fresh.
Flexibility that works for you: We know work-life balance is key. That’s why we offer flexible hours to fit your lifestyle, and one day of remote work a week when it fits your role. Because we know great ideas don’t always come from the same desk.
Kortrijk, our hidden gem: We might be a little biased, but Kortrijk’s got everything—creative energy, amazing food, and just enough peace to let your next big idea come to life.
Our philosophy?
At Magnax, mistakes aren’t failures—they’re launch pads. We build, we test, we laugh, and then we try again. It’s engineering with heart.
Your future is here
Join us, and your ideas will be challenged, while your skills will grow. Whether you’re reshaping our R&D dream team or solving the next big manufacturing challenge, you’ll be part of something big.
