Robotic Sensor Engineer – Internship / Student Job
Type:Full Time or Part Time Internship / Student job
Mantis Robotics is building the fastest and safest industrial robots that can work safely with people, to make robotic automation accessible to anyone wanting to automate a manual task. We are seeking a motivated student to join our sensor development team in Leuven, Belgium. The selected candidate will participate in various R&D tasks related to the design of a sensor module in the context of Human Robot Interactions.
This position is open for internships with a duration of minimum 3 months or part-time student job that would require the candidate to be available 14 hrs/week.
Core Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibility will be to participate in testing an early prototype of a sensing module, including to set up the test environment, write embedded software, perform data collection and post-processing. In order to realize our objectives, we expect you to:
▪ Design and implement drivers and algorithms to run and post-process sensor data
▪ Set up hardware and debug independently using lab tools
▪ Evaluate performances and provide critical thinking
▪ Iterate and react fast to requirement changes
Qualifications:
- HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE IN C OR C++
- STRONG WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS IN ENGLISH
Preferred:
- Experience with python
- Experience with version control tools such as GIT, SVN
- Hands-on experience with industrial robots
