Job Description

Our client is a fast-growing technology company based in Brussels, specialized in digital railway systems. Operating in an international environment, the company delivers high value-added projects and works in close collaboration with major European industrial players in the rail sector.

Role

As a Technical Pre-Sales Engineer, you will be at the heart of the sales cycle, providing the technical expertise required to transform customer needs into optimized railway solutions. You will be involved from the early phases of projects to ensure the technical feasibility, compliance, and added value of bids.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse customer needs and define appropriate technical solutions

Contribute To Bids And Proposals, Including

  • System architecture
  • Compliance and technical requirements
  • Software and hardware Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations of complex solutions
  • Provide pre-sales support related to system integration, performance, and interoperabilityCoordinate closely with product management, R&D, and delivery teams
  • Conduct technology monitoring and competitive intelligence in the digital rail domain
  • Capitalise and share technical knowledge (Q&A, internal and customer training sessions)

Profile / Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent technical background
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical pre-sales within the railway sector
  • Strong knowledge of railway signalling systems and digital technologies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts
  • Comfortable with writing structured and detailed technical proposals
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); other European languages such as French or German are a strong asset
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to meet customers and attend professional events
