About the Role
- Reporting to the Global Warehousing Director, the Global Warehousing Excellence Leader is responsible for the operational performance, and continuous improvement of warehousing operations across all sites (insourced or outsourced). This role ensures world-class warehousing standards by driving operational excellence in all dimensions of people, process and systems, facilitating community of practice, maximizing productivity, and enhancing visibility into losses and inefficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Operational Excellence: Contribute to the design and implementation a global warehousing operating model focused on standardisation, agility, and scalability. Support the deployment of BD Excellence through Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies to drive efficiency and eliminate waste. Establish a culture of excellence through structured problem-solving, performance benchmarking, and best practice sharing.
- Performance Monitoring and Productivity Management: Through efficient Tiered Management System, establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs: e.g., labor efficiency, throughput, order accuracy) to measure and improve warehouse performance. Define and implement analytical capabilities and enabling dashboards for best-in-class performance management including benchmark level and roadmap per DC to reach benchmark and excellence. Leverage labor management systems and performance dashboards to track and improve workforce utilization. Drive initiatives to optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and automation to increase output per resource.
- Losses Visibility & Mitigation: Develop and maintain robust systems for tracking any type of losses (inventory, damages, handling etc) across all sites. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning to reduce operational losses and improve accountability. Integrate loss visibility into daily operations and reporting to enable proactive risk management. Report-out on performance and continuous improvement activities through Cost-To-Win framework.
- Process Optimisation: Identify and implement best practices to improve warehouse operations, including robotics, automation and technology integration.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise within the warehousing operations, as well as coordinate with upstream and downstream activities, applying BD Excellence practices and strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration and community of practice: Partner with logistics, procurement, manufacturing, and customer service to ensure seamless end-to-end supply chain performance. Drive a warehouse center of excellence and community of practices driving global capability building and standardization. Ensure Benchmarking for best in class.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field; MBA or equivalent is a plus.
- 5+ years in Supply Chain, including global role.
- Appetite to learn and deploy expertise in warehouse operations, WMS, and productivity tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Proven track record in driving operational excellence and reducing losses.
- Capability to influence without authority.
- Strategic thinker, results-oriented, collaborative leader, and change agent.
- Travel Requirements: Global travel up to 50% of time.
