What you will do

You will join a development team working on a digital transformation project that delivers standard interfaces for identity and access management functionality, including self-service and delegation features. The architecture separates frontend and backend to allow independent releases.

Your responsibilities include:

• Develop and evolve Java backend and Angular frontend components
• Participate in technical design with functional analysts, the technical lead and the team
• Design application components respecting the defined architecture and technical standards
• Apply development best practices including Clean Code principles
• Write unit tests and integration tests to the required quality standards
• Fix bugs and implement functional and technical improvements
• Participate in code refactoring to improve readability, maintainability and performance
• Take part in code reviews with other developers
• Contribute to deployment preparation and delivery across different environments
• Validate deployment and delivery of the solution
• Reduce technical debt through refactoring and upgrading libraries and frameworks
• Collaborate daily with developers, functional analysts, testers and other project stakeholders
• Participate in SCRUM ceremonies
• Share technical difficulties, points of attention and risks with the team leader
• Document developments when necessary and share knowledge within the team

What we are looking for

Essential technical skills:

• Expert level in Java (Java 8 / JEE7, Java 21) with JUnit and Mockito
• Expert level in Spring, Spring Boot and JPA
• Confirmed level in Angular (Angular 21) and Material
• Confirmed level in Spring Security
• Confirmed level in REST and OpenAPI
• Confirmed level in DB2 and MySQL
• Confirmed level in CI/CD deployment with Docker
• Junior level in API IAM
• Junior level in Kubernetes and DataDog
• Confirmed experience with SCRUM methodology

All these skills should have been used recently (this year for most, any time for Kubernetes/DataDog and Spring Security).

Additional requirements:

• Native or fluent French is essential, as the mission is conducted exclusively in French
• Ability to work in an Agile/SCRUM environment
• Familiarity with Apache Maven and Git/GitLab CI/CD pipelines

The setting

This assignment runs from January to the end of March 2027, full-time for three months.

The work mode is hybrid with a minimum of 50% on-site presence required in Brussels.

The technical environment includes Angular 21, Java 8/JEE7, Java 21, Spring Boot, NgRx, DB2, MySQL, Flyway, Apache Maven, Git/GitLab CI/CD and Nexus.

You will work in a service-oriented architecture within an Agile/SCRUM framework, collaborating with functional analysts, testers, developers and other programme participants.
