They're appointing a CTO to own the technical agenda and lead engineering through the next phase.
The Role:
- Technical strategy and architecture: the platform, the model layer, and how both evolve
- The engineering org: structure, hiring bar, delivery quality
- Build-vs-buy and sovereignty calls that define the product's positioning
- Security and certification as an engineering property, not paperwork
- External technical voice: partners, enterprise clients, regulators, the board
What they need
- 15+ years in engineering, 5+ as CTO or VP Eng in B2B software
- Scaled an engineering org and owned the hiring bar that made it work
- Real architectural depth, credible in the technical conversation, not just the management one
- Production AI/ML, ideally LLM-based, with a grip on cost, latency and evaluation trade-offs
- Regulated or certification-heavy environments, and data-residency constraints
- Fluent English. German is a bonus, as is legal tech or another regulated professional-services domain.
