Freelance Financial Controller – Region Brussels (Ref. 1711)
For an established organisation, we are looking for an experienced Freelance Financial Controller to temporarily strengthen the Finance department. In this role, you will report directly to the CFO and be responsible for the reliability of financial reporting and the optimisation of the controlling cycle. You will dive deep into the data, identify deviations and advise management on opportunities and risks.
Your responsibilities:
- Perform profitability, cost and investment analyses.
- Manage transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
- Take responsibility for monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts and liquidity forecasts.
- Identify deviations, analyse their root causes and advise management.
- Optimise and automate financial processes.
- Prepare the annual accounts and coordinate the audit.
- Set up and professionalise reporting and controlling processes.
- Perform analyses to support strategic decision-making.
Your profile:
- Degree in Economics, Finance or a related field.
- Relevant professional experience as a (Financial) Controller.
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a hands‑on mentality.
- Strong communication skills, independence and a results-oriented mindset.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. AFAS, Exact, SAP, D365) and building KPI dashboards in Power BI/Excel.
- Dutch-speaking, with a good command of French and English.
