Overview

Sarens is recruiting for Onshore Heavy Lifting Projects. We are seeking a flexible and skilled Tower Crane Operator to join our team on a project in Walsum, Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure everyone works safely and follows Sarens’ SHEQ standards.
  • Ensure all activities comply with Sarens’ SHEQ standards, policies, instructions, and local laws.
  • Check all necessary documents (planning instructions, certificates, lifting plans, load charts) before starting work.
  • Check local weather conditions beforehand.
  • Assemble, configure, and disassemble a crane.
  • Operate and control the crane independently, following manufacturer instructions.
  • Keep a crane clean, neat, and in good operational condition, including refueling as needed.
  • Inspect the crane and equipment for damage before, during, and after operations.
  • Perform daily, first-line, and preventive maintenance.
  • Report any damage and irregularities.
  • Provide feedback to the line or functional Manager on work and potential extra work.
  • Follow Sarens’ standards, company, and client policies and instructions in all tasks and training.

Profile / Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience as an operator of 40+t capacity tower cranes (brands: Wollf, Wilbert, Liebherr).
  • Experience operating tower cranes with a lattice boom.
  • Location near Walsum, Germany.
  • Certifications: certificate for securing critical loads (IS-006) and/or a safety certificate (VCA). Additional certificates (forklift, telehandler, aerial platform) are a plus.
  • Hoisting / safety certificate is mandatory. A driver’s License C or CE is strongly recommended.
  • Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Knowledge of mechanics and electronics.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent communication and situational awareness skills.
  • Capability to work at heights and strong teamwork skills.
