For one of our clients active in the energy sector, we are currently looking for a Direct Procurement Officer to join a dynamic procurement team in a leading industrial environment.

About the Role

As a Direct Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for a wide range of direct purchases, including goods, services, and technical works.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the full tendering process, adapting your level of involvement according to the complexity of each procurement project.
  • Developing and implementing effective negotiation strategies to secure the best commercial and contractual conditions.
  • Proactively identifying purchasing needs through data analysis and regular interaction with internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring sufficient market exposure by accurately translating business requirements into procurement specifications and engaging potential suppliers at an early stage.
  • Updating and optimizing technical and commercial specifications in line with business objectives.
  • Managing active contracts throughout their lifecycle, including claims handling, amendments, supplier performance follow-up, and contract renegotiations.
  • Contributing to the development of category procurement strategies and long‑term sourcing plans.
  • Building strong relationships with internal customers and external suppliers to support business objectives.

Profile

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Applied Economics, Business Engineering, or an equivalent field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in procurement, preferably within an industrial or technical environment.
  • Proven experience in supplier negotiations and contract management.
  • Good knowledge of public procurement and tendering procedures is required.
  • Experience with technical purchasing is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong drafting and writing skills, particularly regarding contractual documentation.
  • Proactive, assertive, diplomatic, and solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Team player with strong stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of SAP and Coupa is highly desirable.
  • Holder of a valid driving licence (Category B).

Languages

  • French and/or Dutch : Fluent
  • English: Good professional working proficiency
