Business Analyst – Process Improvement (VIE)

Location: Brussels

We are looking for an experienced IT Business Analyst – Process Improvement to join our team in Brussels under a VIE contract (Volontariat International en Entreprise). You will play a key role in analyzing, modelling, and optimizing business processes while acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and understand business needs through workshops and stakeholder interviews.
  • Gather, document, and prioritize functional and business requirements.
  • Model and document AS‑IS and TO‑BE business processes using BPMN and UML methodologies.
  • Create process maps, workflows, and functional documentation using tools such as Microsoft Visio, Bizagi, Signavio, ARIS, or Lucidchart.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and project managers to design efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Support the implementation of new business processes and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to functional testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
  • Ensure documentation is maintained and aligned with business and technical standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant, or Functional Business Analyst in an IT environment.
  • Hands‑on experience in business process modelling using BPMN, UML, or similar methodologies.
  • Proficiency with process modelling tools such as Microsoft Visio, Bizagi, Signavio, ARIS, Camunda, Lucidchart, or Enterprise Architect (Sparx).
  • Experience facilitating workshops, gathering business requirements, and producing functional specifications.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) is considered an asset.
  • Professional proficiency in French and English is mandatory.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Eligible to work in Belgium or willing to relocate to Brussels.
