As a System Engineer, you will shape and coordinate the development of an advanced optical sensing and on-board processing system for autonomous space applications. You will translate mission and stakeholder needs into a coherent system architecture, requirements and interfaces across sensors, optics, electronics, embedded software and algorithms. Your focus will be system architecture, multidisciplinary integration, technical trade-offs and end-to-end verification.

Tasks

  • Translate mission objectives and operational scenarios into system, subsystem and interface requirements
  • Define and maintain the end-to-end architecture across optical sensors, multi-sensor hardware, processing electronics, embedded software and algorithms
  • Lead multidisciplinary trade-offs covering performance, SWaP, timing, data throughput, robustness, complexity and development risk
  • Manage interfaces, budgets, assumptions, requirements traceability and technical risks throughout the development lifecycle
  • Coordinate integration planning and resolve cross-functional issues between hardware, software, algorithms and validation teams
  • Define verification methods and lead system-level reviews, hardware-in-the-loop testing and end-to-end demonstrations

Required Skills

  • Master degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, systems engineering, applied physics or a related field
  • Experience with system architecture, requirements engineering, interface management and verification planning
  • Ability to reason across optics, electronics, embedded software, data processing and mechanical design
  • Strong analytical, technical writing and stakeholder communication skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Desired Skills

  • Spaceborne optical instruments, camera systems or multi-sensor payloads
  • Model-based systems engineering, requirement tools and interface control documents
  • Reliability, fault tolerance, spacecraft interfaces
  • Experience leading technical reviews and integration or verification campaigns
  • Junior and senior profiles with relevant systems experience can apply.
