The LNG terminal in Zeebrugge is the gateway for the supply of LNG (liquefied natural gas) in North-West Europe. LNG unloaded at the terminal can be redistributed for purchase on the Belgian market, traded on Hub Zeebrugge or transported to other end-user markets in all directions: the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, France and Southern Europe.
We are looking for a Plant Operator (m/f/x) for the LNG Terminal in Zeebrugge.
Job purpose
A Plant Operator at the LNG terminal in Zeebrugge ensures the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the installations for the storage, regasification and transhipment of LNG. The role contributes directly to a reliable energy supply through the meticulous implementation of procedures and proactive cooperation with colleagues and maintenance teams.
Your responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor or Panel Operator, you will perform the following tasks:
- you will start and stop machines such as pumps and compressors in accordance with, among other things, the dispatch programme and the loading and unloading of ships
- you will actively help to secure equipment in accordance with existing instructions and procedures
- you will perform manipulations, tests and checks during the loading or unloading of an LNG ship, both on the jetty and on board the LNG ship
- you supervise the installations and carry out inspection and safety rounds for this purpose.
- you report on this to the Shift Supervisor or the Panel Operator
- You assist with the loading of LNG trucks
- You follow the procedures and instructions that apply to a SEVESO company
- You are part of the safety intervention team for the installations
- You develop proposals for optimising and improving operational processes and submit them to the Shift Supervisor
- You perform minor control, inspection and maintenance work
About you
- A secondary school diploma in (electro)mechanics/electricity or equivalent experience
- Preferably work experience in a process or energy environment
- The ability to strictly follow procedures
- A critical eye for questioning and optimising matters
- The ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, independent decisions in crisis situations
- A strong team spirit and sense of responsibility
- A keen desire to learn and motivation to develop yourself further
- Very good knowledge of Dutch and good knowledge of English
This position also requires:
- Inclusion in a continuous shift system (early/late/night/day/weekend)
- A driving licence B
