The LNG terminal in Zeebrugge is the gateway for the supply of LNG (liquefied natural gas) in North-West Europe. LNG unloaded at the terminal can be redistributed for purchase on the Belgian market, traded on Hub Zeebrugge or transported to other end-user markets in all directions: the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, France and Southern Europe.
For the LNG Terminal in Zeebrugge, we are looking for a Process operator (m/f/x).
Job purpose
As a Process Operator at our LNG terminal in Zeebrugge, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing operational tasks such as loading and unloading LNG ships and trucks, and assisting the Panel Operator in the control room.
Your responsibilities
You will operate under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor
Under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor or Panel Operator, you will perform the following tasks:
you start and stop machines such as pumps and compressors depending on factors such as the dispatch forecast
you actively help to secure equipment in accordance with specific instructions and procedures
you will maintain daily supervision, including inspection and safety rounds in the installation, according to specific procedures and supplemented with instructions
you will perform manipulations, tests and checks during the unloading or loading of an LNG ship, both on the jetty and on board the LNG ship
You will assist the Panel Operator in the control room:
you will actively participate in the preparations for loading and unloading LNG ships
you will monitor the unloading or loading process
you will analyze and interpret the indications of incoming alarms during the unloading or loading process and, in consultation with the Panel Operator, take the necessary actions
you assist in the daily reports and complete the necessary checklists
You follow the procedures and instructions that apply to a SEVESO company
You assist the Plant Operator where necessary.
You are part of the safety intervention team for the installation
You make proposals for optimisation and improvements to the operational processes and submit them to the Shift Supervisor
You perform minor maintenance work
About you
A secondary school diploma in (Electro)Mechanics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Work experience in a process or energy environment
A strong sense of responsibility
A proactive attitude that enables you to work both in a team and individually
A keen desire to learn, with an openness to frequent further training
High stress resistance, enabling you to make quick and independent decisions in crisis situations
Critical thinking skills that allow you to question and optimise processes
The ability to follow established procedures with great precision
Very good knowledge of Dutch and good knowledge of English
This position also requires:
Inclusion in a continuous shift system (early/late/night/day/weekend)
A driving licence B and your own vehicle
