Business Development Manager - Environmental Testing

Working arrangement: Predominantly remote following initial onboarding

Package: Base salary + 20% annual performance bonus + company car/car allowance + benefits

The Opportunity

We are working with an established and growing organisation within the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector that is looking to appoint a commercially driven Business Development Manager to support its continued expansion across the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional who enjoys developing new relationships, identifying commercial opportunities and winning business.

The role is focused on new business acquisition rather than managing an existing portfolio of clients, making it ideally suited to someone with a proactive, hunter-style approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target and secure new business opportunities across environmental testing and related technical services.
  • Develop relationships with prospective customers across sectors including water, construction, environmental consultancy and industrial services.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Conduct market mapping and identify potential clients across the Dutch-speaking Belgian market.
  • Understand customer requirements and present appropriate laboratory testing solutions.
  • Work closely with technical and operational teams to develop commercially attractive proposals.
  • Drive revenue growth through proactive prospecting, client meetings and business development activities.

About You

We are interested in speaking with commercially motivated individuals who have a proven background in B2B sales and new business development.

Ideally, you will have experience within the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry, particularly environmental testing involving soil, water, air or construction-related analysis.

However, candidates with transferable experience in analytical chemistry, scientific instrumentation, laboratory services or other technical service-led industries are also encouraged to apply.

You will bring strong relationship-building skills, commercial awareness and the ability to independently develop business opportunities.

Fluency in Dutch is essential, while French language skills would be advantageous.

Working Arrangements

The position offers considerable flexibility, with predominantly remote working following an initial onboarding period.

The successful candidate will be required to attend the company's Wevelgem office daily during the first 4-8 weeks for training and familiarisation. Following this, office attendance is expected approximately twice per month, alongside customer visits as required.

The package includes:

  • Base salary dependent on experience
  • Annual performance bonus of approximately 20%
  • Health and group insurance
  • Meal vouchers of €10 per working day
  • Business expenses covered in accordance with company policy
