Ready to take ownership of a complex, mixed database estate where your expertise really counts?

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced System Administrator with a strong database background to join a growing Brussels-based technical team.

You’ll look after a mixed estate of on-premises and Azure-hosted databases. You’ll keep them secure, resilient and performing well, and help shape how the infrastructure evolves. It’s a hands‑on role with real variety. Alongside core DBA work, you’ll support wider Windows and Azure administration and act as a trusted technical point of contact for application owners.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Administering and operating Oracle and MS SQL (on-premises) and PostgreSQL (Azure) databases, covering installation, patching, performance tuning, backup and recovery, monitoring, listener configuration, tablespaces and user management.
  • Driving the evolution of database infrastructure, architecture and hosting platforms, including system hardening, access control and auditing.
  • Managing database security and compliance by finding and fixing vulnerabilities and analysing security audits and logs.
  • Automating and scripting routine operations to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Supporting application owners and database users with day‑to‑day queries and issues.
  • Producing clear technical documentation, reports and presentations.
  • Contributing to broader systems administration, including Windows Server/IIS, Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure DevOps pipelines, certificate renewals and general troubleshooting.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience administering Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL across on‑premises and cloud environments, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of performance tuning, monitoring, backup and recovery, capacity management and high‑availability practices.
  • Hands‑on experience managing database infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, with automation and scripting skills in PowerShell, SQL or similar.
  • A solid understanding of database hardening, privilege management, vulnerability remediation, security auditing and log analysis.
  • Experience with Windows Server, IIS, Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure DevOps pipelines and certificate management.
  • Confident communication skills, including the ability to write clear documentation and present to stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
