A leading organization in the Energy & Utilities sector is seeking an experienced Back-End Java & Cloud Engineer to join a modern, cloud-native engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work across customer-facing applications, API platforms, microservices, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps environments, leveraging the latest Java and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, and deploy Java-based backend applications and API services
- Build scalable microservices using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot 3.x
- Develop and maintain cloud-native applications on Azure (AWS experience also considered)
- Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Containerize applications using Docker and orchestrate deployments through Kubernetes
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure Pipelines or GitLab Actions
- Collaborate with Functional Analysts to resolve incidents and deliver robust solutions
- Participate in operational support and on-call/guard-duty rotations
- Drive technical innovation by proposing modern architectures, tools, and engineering best practices
