Brussel Hoofdstad, Belgique HumanInTech Temps plein 90 000 € - 130 000 € Contrat

What you will do

Within a major digital transformation programme, you will act as project leader and Domain Lead, guiding through influence, clarity of vision and trust rather than control. You will serve the teams to enable them to deliver value to the business.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Federate multiple agile teams (squads) around a shared vision and common objectives, ensuring alignment between business priorities and team priorities
  • Create the conditions for autonomy: set a clear framework, leave decisions as close to the teams as possible, and support their growth in maturity (servant leadership)
  • Develop the overall planning with the teams, coordinate dependencies between them, and arbitrate priorities in a transparent manner
  • Facilitate domain rituals (inter-team synchronisations, reviews, retrospectives) and promote the sharing of good practices and learnings
  • Identify and remove obstacles that slow down the teams, facilitating collaboration with other teams, the business and IT
  • Coach and develop people, give and receive feedback, and maintain a culture of trust, transparency and continuous improvement
  • Manage project change requests in consultation with stakeholders
  • Report regularly on project progress to the relevant bodies, with transparency on risks and difficulties
  • Escalate correctly and in time any significant changes or problems that exceed acceptable tolerance thresholds
  • Ensure follow-up with suppliers by involving them as true partners
  • Manage budgets

What we are looking for

Key competencies

  • Simplification and influential communication: ability to translate complex IT concepts into simple and accessible business language
  • Strategic alignment and translation: ability to embrace the political vision and business needs and transform them into an operational roadmap and clear priorities for delivery
  • Servant leadership: ability to guide, inspire and empower teams (squads), while removing administrative or organisational obstacles
  • Stakeholder management: skill to navigate a complex public ecosystem (cabinets, directorates-general, external partners) and reconcile sometimes divergent interests

Required experience

  • Business-IT interface: solid experience in a bridging role (for example senior Product Owner, Business Relationship Manager or programme director) where non-technical communication was a key success factor
  • Management of multidisciplinary teams: experience in leading large teams distributed across multiple autonomous teams or squads
  • Budget and capacity management: experience in allocating resources and managing budgets within public budget envelopes

Profile and experience

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar function, with proven experience in coordinating and leading multiple teams
  • Mastery of agile and iterative working methods applied to IT projects, as well as their implementation in complex environments
  • Solid knowledge of project management methodologies and governance and delivery practices
  • Significant experience in leading large-scale IT projects involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional dependencies
  • Proven experience in optimisation and business process reengineering
  • Mastery of the principles and challenges of change management, particularly in the context of organisational and digital transformations
  • Knowledge of application management and understanding of the challenges related to their lifecycle, maintenance and evolution

Competencies and skills

  • Ability to structure, plan and prioritise activities according to strategic objectives, business needs and delivery capacity
  • Excellent analytical, synthesis and problem-solving skills, able to identify risks, dependencies and improvement levers
  • Ability to coordinate multiple teams and promote effective collaboration between IT teams, business stakeholders and other actors

Human qualities and leadership (soft skills)

Beyond expertise, it is your way of working with others that will make the difference in this role:

  • You know how to influence and mobilise without resorting to hierarchical authority
  • You have excellent communication and active listening skills, and you adapt your message to each interlocutor (teams, business, management, suppliers)
  • You demonstrate empathy and emotional intelligence, and you know how to create a climate of psychological safety in which everyone dares to speak
  • You manage tensions and conflicts with diplomacy, and you know how to negotiate solutions acceptable to all
  • You are a facilitator and a coach: you help teams and people to progress
