ABOUT US
The Shift – www.theshift.be – is the Belgian sustainability community. Our network of diverse organisations has one common goal: to actively work together towards a more sustainable economy and society. The Shift connects over 580 companies, NGOs, public and academic actors in Belgium and is the national point of contact for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the B Corp Movement.
Our mission is to facilitate and accelerate the sustainability agenda, driven by three forces:
CONNECT – we organize networking opportunities for our members around burning sustainability challenges;
COMMIT – we help our members formulate their long-term sustainability goals;
CHANGE – we set up innovative change projects for the most complex challenges with members who want to go the extra mile.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals act as guiding principles, the young generations help challenge the status quo.
Our objective is to accelerate the transition to a socio-economic model that is creating wellbeing for all within the planetary boundaries. We engage our members to taking ambitious commitments and to take actions that lead to net-zero, nature-positive, inclusive and fair business models creating value for all stakeholders.
