Start your logistics career at DHL Supply Chain – Research, improve and grow with us

At DHL Supply Chain, we believe in taking action and continuously improving. That is why we are always looking for enthusiastic students who want to apply their knowledge and contribute to our logistics excellence.

Are you currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, Commercial Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or another related logistics programme? Then you have come to the right place

What can you expect from us?

At DHL Supply Chain, you will gain valuable experience through a project-based internship. During this 12-week internship, you will independently work on a concrete and relevant project at one of our logistics sites.

During this project internship, you will not actively participate in the daily operation. The focus will be on researching, analysing and developing your project assignment. You will be paired with a Site Manager or another manager who will guide you and help you gain a clear understanding of our organisation and processes.

  • A challenging 12-week project internship with room for your own input
  • A concrete project that is directly relevant to our logistics organization
  • Personal guidance from a Site Manager or Operations Manager
  • The opportunity to apply your knowledge in practice
  • An international and innovative working environment
  • And of course: great colleagues and access to our facilities

What will you be doing?

As a project intern, you will work for 12 weeks on a concrete supply chain or operations-related challenge at one of our sites. You will become familiar with the organisation and the relevant logistics processes, collect and analyse information, and translate your findings into concrete conclusions and recommendations.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Mapping and analysing logistics processes
  • Collecting and analysing operational data
  • Identifying bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
  • Developing concrete recommendations or improvement proposals
  • Coordinating with employees, team leaders and management
  • Presenting your results and final recommendations

Possible project topics may include:

  • Continuous improvement of processes
  • Optimisation of productivity and lead times
  • Analysis of KPIs and dashboards
  • Improvement of inventory management and goods flows
  • Capacity and workforce planning
  • Sustainability, safety or ergonomics within the operation

Who are we looking for?

You are analytical, curious and enjoy investigating logistics-related challenges. You take initiative, work independently and are not afraid to ask questions.

In addition:

  • You are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, Commercial Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or a comparable field
  • You are looking for a project internship of approximately 12 weeks
  • You work accurately, in a structured way and with a focus on results
  • You have strong analytical skills and are comfortable working with data
  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy working with different stakeholders
  • You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • For an internship at our Brussels site, a good knowledge of French is important, as French is the main language spoken on the work floor

What would we like to know about you?

To help us find a suitable project internship, we would like to receive the following information:

  • The type of internship or project assignment you are looking for
  • The period and duration of your internship
  • The degree programme and specialisation you are pursuing
  • The requirements set by your university or university college
  • The topics or supply chain challenges that interest you
  • The region in which you would prefer to complete your internship
