Are you an experienced Freelance Senior Platform Engineer who thrives in the ever-changing world of Information Technology? Then we have exciting opportunities for you About the Role Our client in Brussels is seeking a Senior Application Platform Engineer to join the Application Platform Team. This team plays a critical role in supporting development teams and maintaining the platforms where applications are deployed. You will ensure stability, scalability, and reliability of these platforms while enabling smooth application delivery. Key Responsibilities Platform Management: Design, implement, and manage changes to application platforms (Windows Server and AKS). Maintenance & Documentation: Maintain software components forming the platforms and document support procedures. Developer Support: Assist developers and application architects during solution design and implementation through to production. Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve technical issues related to deployed applications and platform components. Coaching & Collaboration: Support and mentor team members on platform technologies. Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement enhancements to application platforms. On-Call Support: Participate in a 24/7 on-duty rotation (1 week every 4 weeks). General Skills Ability to follow conversations in Dutch and French (mandatory) and fluency in English. Passion for cloud-native technologies. Solid understanding of traditional IT and software development principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Experience working in regulated environments. Technical Skills Cloud-Native Workloads: 4+ years managing cloud-native workloads in corporate environments. Kubernetes Expertise: Extensive experience with Kubernetes clusters and related components (Istio, Keda, Harbor, etc.). IaC & CI/CD: Professional experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps). Public Cloud: 4+ years managing environments in Azure and/or AWS. Scripting: Hands-on skills with PowerShell and Azure CLI. Interested or know someone who fits?
