JOB BRIEF

As a member of the ESG Management team at Weerts Group and its affiliates, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and coordinating the ESG strategy for the group and its various divisions (logistics, real estate, energy and motor racing). You will collaborate with Green Teams across divisions, a network of internal ESG ambassadors, and external ESG consultants as needed. You will report to the Group ESG Leader, who is directly aligned with the Executive Committee.

Responsabilities

ESG Strategy Definition:

  • Assist in setting up the ESG strategy for the group and its divisions, defining Environmental, Social, and Governance objectives in line with European regulations.
  • Ensure ESG principles are integrated into corporate policies and decision making.
  • Contribute to defining the CO2 neutrality roadmap.

Environmental KPIs (Carbon Footprint, Energy Accounting, etc.):

  • Set and track ESG performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Organize the annual update of the group and its subsidiaries' carbon footprint.
  • Participate in the implementation and follow-up of the energy accounting software package and energy metering.
  • Periodically analyse environmental KPIs (energy consumption, green electricity production, water consumption) to detect anomalies and discuss improvements with the Green Teams.
  • Propose specific investments to reduce/ master the carbon footprint of the group.

Environmental Regulation Compliance and Reporting:

  • Develop reporting in line with European regulations (e.g., CSRD, European taxonomy).
  • Ensure compliance with international, national ESG regulation.
  • Stay informed about new environmental legislation and potential evolutions.
  • Follow up on subsidies and premiums.
  • Coordinate the planning and control of necessary works to comply with regulations, such as energy performance legislation.

Environmental Labels & Certification:

  • Assist operational teams in obtaining environmental certifications (e.g., BREEAM for Real Estate, ISO 14001, etc.).

Social Aspects:

  • Help measure and improve the impact of Weerts Group Real Estate activities on communities.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, investors, regulators.
  • Promote ESG awareness and training within the group and its affiliates.

Rating:

  • Respond to dedicated organizations, banks, investors to be rated on the company's ESG performance.

Requirements/ Skills

  • Master's degree & 5 years of experience in ESG matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and/or Dutch, as well as English.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to analyse ESG data and proficiency in ESG tool.
  • Detail-oriented, results-driven, and extremely organized.
