Mission
Assist the CEO of the Belgian branch in managing the private banking activity, with the aim of supporting and developing the business. EDR considers Belgium as a core market for its private banking activities. As such, we want to continue growing our AUM & client base, in order to strengthen our position as a leading player in the Belgian market.
He/she will be responsible for:
BUSINESS OPERATIONS | Manages, implements and develops processes, procedures and tools used by the relationship managers and other front-facing staff. Centralizes development needs and coordinates their implementation. Acts as cross-border referent for this activity.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT | Defines with the local CEO and implements the business and private banking development strategy in accordance with the group policy and strategies. Manages the product and service offering and adapts it where necessary to meet the needs of targeted prospects and customers. Responsible for all activities related to events, marketing and commercial reporting.
As such, the role will be instrumental in further enhancing our customer –and employee experience. And this within a framework consistent with applicable regulations and the Group's governance and control standards, and in line with the Bank's risk appetite.
He/she will report directly to the CEO and will be part of the Belgian Executive Committee.
Responsibilities
Ensure coverage by the Client Business Activity Team (CBA) all "Target Operating Model" activities, implement the objectives and be proactive in making improvement proposals
- Ensure the deployment of all the activities included in the "Target Operating Model" by putting in place the appropriate organization of the department and taking into account the allocated resources
- Validate the feasibility of the objectives set and proposed and plan their implementation
- Evaluate the direct and indirect impacts of CBA actions on commercial activities
- Implement and roll-out the (Group initiated) IT projects/tooling including – where needed – Belgian specific requirements
Manage and develop the product & service value proposition to clients together with stakeholders
- Manage product offer to ensure differentiation and complementarity on the Belgian market & provide all the necessary information and training to our sales staff
- Responsible for all marketing efforts related to our products to support our front facing teams (including execution of Event strategy)
- Align with internal stakeholders to ensure compliant and sales effective end-to-end product (& service) journeys
Deliver reliable (business) controls & reporting
- Immediately alert management in the event of a significant risk identified (commercial, operational, regulatory, other) and in the event of a difficult deadline to meet
- Controls and monitors respect of EdR directives and guidelines, and full respect of local regulatory constraints.
- Deliver periodic reports to support Business management on the one hand, and support commercial steering (dashboards) on the other hand
- Carry out reports on request on specific cases and issues and formulate recommendations
Ensure the good organization and management of the department and different teams (total ~15 FTE's)
- Organize the distribution of work between the teams and manage the deadlines set internally or imposed by the auditors and controllers
- Verify the proper execution of the missions and tasks of those responsible for the supervised functions and ensure monitoring of delegated work
- Ensure the efficient use of resources and their adequacy with the objectives set for the department
Offer the necessary support and support to employees
- Be available to supervised employees in order to help them in their analyses, management of assigned missions and problems encountered
- Share experience and detect possible training needs of supervised employees
- Ensure adequate "up & down" communication within the department
- Maintain a respectful working climate conducive to personal development in the interest of the Bank
Profile, Degree & Experience
- Master degree in Finance, Economics or Business Management.
- +10 years experience within Private Banking segment
- +5 years experience in leading team of experts
- Up-to-date knowledge on current regulations applicable to the private banking business
- Languages: Fluent in French/Dutch/English
- Team player – Solution Oriented – Proactive – Attention to detail - Entrepreneurial
