ACENSI is looking for a Functional Analyst for one of their clients in the energy sector based in Brussels :
As a Functional and Support Analyst, you will play a key role in designing, documenting, and supporting critical applications that automate the business process of power asset portfolio management and asset-backed trading.
This scope covers all power asset (power plant) technologies including thermal, nuclear, renewable, and battery storage.
Your Responsibilities
• Identify and analyze business and functional requirements for power asset portfolio management and trading applications.
• Write functional specifications, technical requirements, and end-user support documentation for team applications.
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and business test cases for new features, ensuring correct software development implementation, alignment with business requirements, and proper unit-test coverage.
• Produce comprehensive documentation for delivered systems, tailored to both end users and the team—from onboarding “how-to” guides to high-level end-toend product and process documentation.
• Act as the first line of support for internal clients, onboard users and ensure smooth interaction with team tools.
• Run regression tests manually and automate them with Python(or any other language) scripting.
• Lead application release management process with other teams considering the dependencies
• Follow DevOps, Infrastructure, and Helpdesk subject with other teams
Hard Skills Required
• Basic knowledge of financial products, including options life-cycle (payoff, exercise, etc.).
• Understanding of power markets and power plant technologies and their role in asset management and energy trading (preferred).
• Proficiency in Python scripting, SQL, and MS Excel.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and Kubernetes for application operations (e.g., restarting pods, VMs, and services).
Soft Skills Required
• Strong analytical thinking and synthesis skills: ability to understand, break down complex problems and deliver actionable insights.
• Problem-solving mindset: proactive, creative, approach to resolving challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.
• Strong team spirit and collaboration Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, Quantitative Analyst, Software Developer, Data Engineer, or Data Scientist.
Work setup: Hybrid, with at least 3 days per week in the office.
Languages
• English: Fluent (required).
• French or Dutch: Advantageous
