Freelance Azure Engineer - Cloud Migration between two Chemical SMEs - Hybrid We are looking for an experienced Azure Engineer to support a major cloud migration initiative involving two Chemical-sector SMEs. The role focuses on designing, building, and migrating workloads into Azure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes). You will work closely with both SMEs to align cloud architecture, ensure seamless migration, and implement best practices in security, scalability, and reliability. Responsibilities Support the end-to-end migration of on-premises workloads from two SMEs into Microsoft Azure. Design, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure using Terraform (IaC). Build and manage containerised workloads using Docker and orchestrate them in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Collaborate with SMEs to understand existing environments and define cloud-ready architecture. Implement best practices for cloud security, networking, identity, and governance. Troubleshoot cloud, container, and infrastructure issues across dev, test, and production environments. Ensure best-in-class CI/CD workflows, automation, and configuration consistency across environments. Document solutions, migration steps, architectures, and operational procedures. Work closely with DevOps, security, and application teams to provide guidance and ensure a smooth migration.
