Job Description Senior Java Engineer (Belgium – Hybrid) We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Engineer to join high-impact Agile squads working on complex and mission-critical backend systems. You will drive architectural decisions, build scalable solutions and contribute to continuous technical excellence. Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Java 17+ and Spring Boot. Build high-performance, secure and scalable microservices. Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and code quality standards. Act as technical owner for critical backend services and components. Collaborate with Product Owners, architects and engineers in cross-functional Agile squads. Support production stability and long-term system reliability. Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices. Skills & Experience 8+ years of experience as a Java Engineer or Backend Developer. Expert-level knowledge of Java 17+, Spring Boot, Maven, Git. Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL). Experience in microservices architecture, API design and secure integration. Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD tooling. Cloud experience (Azure or GCP) is a plus. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Languages Fluent English (Dutch or French is an advantage). Interested?
