I’m working with a leading US law firm that is in significant growth mode within its antitrust and merger control practice, with roles open in both London and Brussels. While the team is open to reviewing exceptional candidates across all levels, there is a clear preference for mid-level associates, ideally from the 2021–2023 qualification cohorts, as the team has already had success hiring at the junior end and is now focused on strengthening the mid-tier. This is a rare opportunity to join a highly prestigious competition practice at a point of real momentum, with outstanding partner access and exposure to some of the most complex and high-profile matters in the market.

The practice is made up of a small, elite group of partners and associates, with an almost 1:1 partner-to-associate ratio, which is highly unusual at this level of the market. The team was founded by a widely respected figure in the competition space and is supported by a strong bench of senior partners across both Brussels and London. Despite the firm’s global scale, the antitrust group itself remains close-knit, collaborative, and deeply invested in the development of its lawyers.

The focus of the practice is firmly on merger control, with significant experience across EU and UK merger control, foreign direct investment (FDI), and foreign subsidies regulation (FSR). The team is regularly instructed on strategically important, complex, and often politically sensitive transactions, working closely with top-tier corporate and private equity practices.
