In this brand new, varied role, you provide scientific support in the R&D department by designing and executing scientific studies, maintaining cell lines, handling biological samples and much more. This role combines lab (40%) and office (60%) work, offering the opportunity to both work in the lab at the bench and to participate in strategy design related to scientific research. This is a full-time position based on the site of our customer, UCB Pharma, in Braine-l’Alleud. You will work from Monday to Friday with flexibility in working hours, and no shifts. You get a temporary contract of 6 months, which becomes a permanent one after a positive evaluation. The team

You are part of a small encouraging and growing team and together with 3 colleagues, you belong to our department Lab and Product Services. This division of Avantor supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

What we’re looking for
- Education: Master’s in Pharma, Chemistry, Drug Metabolism or related is preferred, depending on experience
- Experience:

- In Pharma and/or Research and Development is preferred, which can also be from an internship
- Knowledge of ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism, and Excretion) is an advantage
- Good computer skills, in particular with MS Office
- Excellent communication skills in English, and preferably intermediate in French
- Vaccination for Hepatitis B is required to work in the lab

How you will thrive and create an impact
- Design and execute studies to understand ADME properties of new molecular entities
- Exhibit a sound scientific approach to experimental design and data interpretation
- Prepare clearly articulated experimental reports and data presentations
- Maintain accurate and timely records of experimental designs, assay development, experimental results, data analysis, and interpretation within laboratory notebooks
- Recommend and lead new strategies within ADME to develop and implement state-of-the-art technologies in the field
- Increase visibility (internally & externally) by demonstrating scientific excellence and credibility
- Work with Radioactive isotopes
- Aliquot solutions and biological materials
- Support in protein assay
- Maintain cell lines and handle biological samples
