**Position**:
About the role

The ECF EU Institutions Team’s core mission is to navigate European and national politics and build political will for accelerated climate action at EU-level. The team works with a wide range of partners in civil society, think tanks, business groups and the research community in support of these goals in Brussels and European capitals. We are looking at under-represented voices and angles and how they can shape EU politics beyond traditional climate allies.

The role is a great opportunity for an early-career professional based in Brussels aiming at developing a network and deepening its knowledge on EU politics.

Key Responsabilities

This job offers an excellent opportunity to engage with and support a major ECF priority and responsibilities include:

- Grant-making activities and administrative processes: Reviewing grantee proposals; evaluating grantee reports; managing the portfolio and budget overview via the grants management system, with a focus on Brussels.
- EU Public affairs: development of stakeholders’ mappings and timelines, strategy support to other teams in their outreach to the EU institutions, general strategy advice to the organization.
- Project management: managing and monitoring deliverables and work conducted by a set of grantees and external consultancies by maintaining frequent communication, and ensuring accountability; monitoring and evaluating progress and impact of initiatives and grants; and acting as a liaison to report progress to donors.
- Financial planning and budget support: Establishing clear and effective budget management and planning systems, to assist with strategic decision making via the grants management system.
- Organisation and coordination: Practical and logístical support, including planning and organising internal and external meetings, drafting/reviewing reports and minutes.

**Requirements**:
Experience and competencies
- Demonstrated interest in the mission and values of the ECF;
- 2-4 years’ of relevant experience with a focus on the EU;
- Thorough understanding of EU Policy making / political system and the Brussels ecosystem; knowledge of the Council or the Commission would be an advantage.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English; knowledge of other European languages an advantage;
- Attention to detail; flexibility; ability to work independently and to prioritise tasks in a fast-moving work environment;
- Structured, driven and able to manage many processes simultaneously
