Main Duties
The Head of UITP Asia-Pacific Regional Office is responsible of the definition and execution of the UITP Asia-Pacific activities and the contribution of this office to UITP global activities. She/he will reply to the Senior Director Global Growth.

She/he contributes to the retention of current members and the further development of the membership as well as the knowledge and the financial base of UITP via various means.

She/he represents UITP, liaises with business associates, relevant organizations and Government bodies in the region and is the contact person for (international) institutions.

He/she is responsible for the functioning and management of the Asia Pacific offices according to local legislation and Head office requirements in terms of financial, legal, fiscal, labour and administrative rules.

The Head of UITP Asia-Pacific is responsible for the budget of the region. She/he manages it carefully and according to UITP Board’s recommendations and guidelines.

This position implies a strong leadership in strengthening the RISE culture and caring management[1] to generate the well-being of employees and the sustainable performance of the organisation.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Defines, develops and implements a business plan for the region according to the UITP overall business plan

2. Based on the Asia Pacific business plan, develops and implements an annual work plan in alignment with the Integrated Global Work Plan in close cooperation with other departments (Strategy, Membership, Marketing and Services, and Knowledge and Innovation departments) and the Asia Pacific Executive Committee.

3. Analyses the public transport market in the region and identifies leads for membership and business development (events and knowledge).

4. Decides on the scope, size/budget and time for the activities under his/her responsibility in the UITP offices covering the Asia-Pacific region and distributes the tasks within the team. These activities are:

- ü Services to members
- ü Membership and business development
- ü Regional projects
- ü Contribution to global projects and activities

5. Supervises and coordinates all activities under his/her responsibility.

6. Coordinates the Asia Pacific activities with UITP India.

7. Represents UITP in the region and is responsible for all relevant contacts.

8. Promotes public transport in line with the global advocacy strategy.

9. Engages UITP and negotiates with potential members and partners, in the region.

10. Is responsible of the day-to-day administrative and financial management of the Asia-Pacific offices, including compliance, internal procedures, and human resources.

11. Is responsible for the budget of the region, including the reporting to UITP Brussels, and manages it according to UITP Board’s recommendations and guidelines.

12. Manages the team according to the RISE values and with care to ensure its sustainable performance. This mainly consists in providing the employees with guidance, leadership and support, ensuring their development and well-being, while being responsible for enforcing corporate policies and procedures standards;
13. Develops and Implements clear, efficient and inclusive processes which focuses on strengths, potentials and cultivates openness and the acceptance of constructive criticism;
14. Creates the conditions for fulfilment at work by promoting autonomy, engagement cooperation, belonging and creativity in a sustainable way. Identifies and promotes professional growth opportunities for staff.

15. Sets departmental and individual employee goals by recognising talents and putting them at the service of the department or the organisation and provides routine evaluations of progress toward these goals.

**COMPETECIES**
- Master degree
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Public Transport sector and its stakeholders
- Clear, effective communication and negotiation skills in a collaborative and transparent environment
- IT literate
- Ability to work autonomously but also within a group
- Proactive, convincing and diplomatic approach
- Availability to travel

Position based in Hong Kong but might need to relocate in other location in Asia, depending on UITP’s needs
