Capital Projects Manager

**Do you possess that unique capability of combining senior engineering, personnel management, and large-scale project management? Then you might be the leader we are looking for to help our sites achieve their ambitions through delivering engineering and construction projects**
**Main responsibilities and key tasks**
- You enable our sites with portfolio management of capital projects and the associated processes, systems and methodologies, focused around the capabilities in portfolio & project management with sufficient affinity for engineering, construction and sourcing & procurement.
- You provide guidance and mentorship to project managers within the portfolio.
- You ensure smooth transition from delivering the project to implementing it at full functionality and capacity. This includes change management and vertical ramp-up when feasible.
- You install the right evaluation and selection methodology to maximize return on invested capital for B.I.G. as a whole and execute the process.
- You lead project teams, including the development of project plans, schedules, and budget.
- You manage project risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
- You communicate project status and progress to senior management and stakeholders.
- You ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
- You coordinate with other departments and external partners as needed.
- You plan, manage, and perform complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-phase capital and engineering projects and studies. You conduct feasibility studies that include engineering and construction aspects. Direct the work of other staff, outside consultants and contractors, and other agencies.
- You ensure that the proposed production methods and equipment in the capital request are state of the art by keeping a real-time view on the new advanced technologies that are available in the world outside B.I.G.
**Competencies and skills**
- You hold a Masters degree, preferably in Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a focus on large-scale capital projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Applied project management skills with expertise of practices and systems of project management (PMO). PMP or other project management certification preferred.
- Coach with a track record to grow junior project managers up to high level proficiency.
- Experience in the relevant industry is an added advantage.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
- Good understand overall business environment, including its financial aspects.
- You are willing to travel during 20% of your time, with temporary peaks up to 50%, depending on the project
