**JOB PURPOSE**:
The Quality Operations Manager leads all aspects of Food Safety & Quality in assistance to the Food Safety and Quality Director CE.
Within the Food Safety & Quality department of Continental Europe, the Quality Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of regional Food Safety & Quality strategy and operational excellence at McCain owned production sites. This is accomplished through building and maintaining trustworthy relationships with other functional leads, as with various stakeholders.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:

- Manage the daily Quality activities to ensure products are safe and meet customer requirements.
- The role also provide support, guidance and expertise to the site in case of deviation/escalation and ensures proper decision is taken being mindful on business as customer needs.
- Actively participates as a member of the site leadership teams, partnering with manufacturing director in setting priorities in line with common strategic and Quality goals.
- Responsible for the implementation, maintenance, improvement opportunities of policies, standards, procedures that comprise the McCain KEFSQ system in the sites, closely working together with internal stakeholders.
- Ensures the timely investigation of complaints in close alignment with customer quality.
- Identify training needs and is vested in developing talent.
- Ensure success of AIB, BRc, IFS, and customer audits. Non-conformities are identified, corrective actions defined, and implemented in a timely manner.
- Identify synergies between sites and facilitates quality best practices sharing. Partnering with other regions.
- Chairs quality continuous improvement (CAPA) and blocked stock review boards.
- Ensure appropriate metrics and reporting/escalation processes are in place and being utilized to drive operational excellence and performance levels and drive appropriate improvement projects.
- Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

**JOBCOMPLEXITY**:

- Working in a matrix organization, building and maintaining strong relationship with peers and stakeholders at multiple levels in the organization; site, regional and global level.
- Capacity to influence and drive performance in a matrix organization
- McCain serves different sales channels; retail, food services and QSR (global key accounts) and product lines; Frozen and Flakes.
- Travel is required up to level needed to support the sites.
- Support 6 McCain CE sites located in France, the Netherlands and Poland.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILS**:

- Experienced people manager with a heart for developing and coaching talent.
- Proven leadership and ability to lead successful change in the organization.
- Thorough knowledge of quality and food safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has a result oriented mindset, and a hands-on pragmatic approach.
- Highly organized and able to work in a fast passed work environment.
- Able to set priorities and takes courageous decisions.
- Fluency in English is a must. Fluency in French and Dutch is an asset.
- Strong autonomy required.

**REQUIRED LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor or Master degree in science (preferred food technology, pharma) or equivalent true experience is required.
- Extensive experience required (10+ years) in quality production environment.
- Proven experience in managing regional quality functions in food or pharma (5+ years)
- Proven experience in managing significant improvement of quality performance. In-depth understanding of performance management, lean Mgt, or any other improvement methodology is a plus.
